What is the difference between Voluntary Education/Training Reimbursement and Directed Training?

Voluntary Education/Training Reimbursement counts towards your annual $4,000 benefit.  This can be used for college courses, certifications, seminars, trainings, etc. There are grade/attendance requirements.  If your supervisor is directing (requiring) you to take a course in order to perform your job, it is considered Directed Training and does not count towards the $4,000 annual benefit.
